About Balchik

Balchik tumbles down in terraces toward the sea, its old houses clinging to the white chalk cliffs that gave it its fame. The heart of the town remains the complex of the Palace of Queen Marie of Romania and the Botanical Garden around it, a place bound up with the Romanian history of the interwar Cadrilater, with paths, terraces and plant collections descending toward the shore.
