About Argata Beach
Argata Beach is one of the beaches around Balchik on Bulgaria's northern Black Sea coast. You don't come here for buzz but for the more secluded, quiet feel that defines the coastline around this characterful port town, known for its waterfront and the nearby Palace of Queen Marie.
Sand and getting in The shore is mixed — sand alternating with stretches of shingle and stone, typical of the smaller coves along the northern coast. Entry into the sea is gradual, shelving gently from the shore, comfortable for unhurried bathing.
Practical The bathing season runs roughly from May to September, peaking in July and August. As a quiet-leaning beach it suits anyone wanting a relaxed day away from the crowds of the big resorts, and visitors exploring the Balchik area. It's most easily reached by car from nearby Balchik and Varna. On a mixed shore water shoes are handy; bring sun protection, water and what you need for a more secluded day, as facilities can be more modest than on the central beaches.
