Smolyan Waterfall

In the heart of the Rhodope Mountains, the wooded, quiet country of southern Bulgaria, a cool waterfall hides among pines and rocks in the Smolyan–Chepelare area. Practical The area lies inland in the Rhodopes, most easily reached by car from Smolyan or Chepelare; the final stretch is usually done on foot along a path, so good walking shoes are useful. The best months run from spring to autumn; in winter the trail can be slippery or snowed over. Check local signposts for the route.
