About Buna Beach
Buna Beach is a beach in the Nessebar area on Bulgaria's southern Black Sea coast. It belongs to the string of sandy strips that line the coast around the old town of Nessebar, a UNESCO World Heritage site — an area where smaller, quieter beaches sit alongside the big resorts nearby. Its character is gentle and pocket-sized, good for a day by the sea without the fuss.
In the water The sand is fine and pleasant underfoot, and the entry into the sea is gradual: the seabed slopes gently from the shore with no sudden drops, keeping the shallows safe and easy. The depth increases steadily as you head out.
Practical The swimming season lasts roughly from May to September, with the warmest water at midsummer. With its gentle entry, the beach is well suited to families and anyone who prefers a more settled atmosphere. It's most easily reached by car from Nessebar or along the coastal road, with bus links from the neighbouring resorts. As a less developed beach, it's worth bringing an umbrella, water and sunscreen.
