Rayski Kat Waterfall

The Rayski Kat waterfall (Corner of Paradise) lies in the Stara Planina (Balkan) Mountains, near the town of Berkovitsa, a well-known mountain resort in north-western Bulgaria. What you'll experience

The waterfall is the highlight of a pleasant hike through the Balkan range's beech and coniferous forest. The path follows the valley, with springs, streams and green views, up to the cascade where you can cool off and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. It looks most spectacular in spring and after rain, when the flow is high. The Berkovitsa area is prized for its clean air, mountain trails and tranquillity.

Practical

The hike starts from the Berkovitsa area, reachable by car from the direction of Montana / Vratsa. Follow the trail markings and a map; set out with mountain footwear and water, as the path can be steep or slippery in places. The best season is late spring through autumn. Nearby are the town of Berkovitsa, with lodging and restaurants, and other Stara Planina routes, including toward Kom peak.
