About South beach
South Beach rounds off Obzor's run of sands toward the southern end of the resort, on Bulgaria's southern Black Sea coast. It keeps the place's broad, unhurried feel — a family shoreline at the foot of the Balkan mountains, a little removed from the bustle of the centre than the main beach.
Sand and water entry The sand is golden and soft underfoot, and the entry into the water is gradual, deepening gently from the shore. That mild slope makes it a natural choice for children and for long spells spent in the shallows. As along the whole Bulgarian coast, the sea is tideless and often calm on clear summer days.
Practical notes The season broadly runs from May to September, with the warmest water in July and August. Being the southern stretch, it is a good pick if you want a bit more room and a bit more quiet while still reaching the sand easily from the resort. Obzor sits on the coast road between Varna and Burgas, both with international airports. Come prepared with water, sun protection and an umbrella; for sunbeds, lifeguards or other services, check on site, since they vary from season to season.
