About Red Beach

Red Beach is one of the sandy stretches of Obzor, on Bulgaria's southern Black Sea coast, where the Balkan range eases down toward the shore and the landscape stays greener and less crowded than in the big resorts. It has Obzor's easygoing, family character: a wide, open beach made for long, unhurried days by the water.

Sand and water entry The sand here is golden and soft underfoot, and the sea floor shelves gradually, so the water deepens gently from the shoreline. That mild slope makes it especially reassuring for children and for anyone who likes to linger in the shallows. Like the rest of the Bulgarian coast, this is a tideless sea that turns calm on settled summer days.

Practical notes The bathing season runs roughly from May to September, with the warmest water in July and August. Obzor sits between Varna and Burgas and is easy to reach by car along the coast road; both cities have international airports. Well suited to families, the beach asks little of you: bring water, sun protection and an umbrella if you want guaranteed shade at midday. For specific services such as sunbeds, lifeguards or food, check on site, as these vary from season to season.
