About Harmanite Beach

Harmanite Beach is the central beach of Sozopol, one of the oldest and most picturesque towns on Bulgaria's southern coast. It sits right beside the new town, a short walk from the old peninsula with its distinctive charm – cobbled lanes, traditional timber houses and ancient churches. For travellers who want an easy-to-reach town beach without giving up an authentic resort atmosphere, Harmanite is the natural choice in Sozopol.

What to see and do It is a wide beach of fine golden sand, opening onto the bay, well suited to families thanks to its gentle entry into the water. You will usually find sections with sunbeds and umbrellas as well as freer stretches; behind the sand are bars, restaurants and small terraces. Its central position makes it lively in high season, ideal both for a full beach day and for a quick swim between strolls around town.

Practical Harmanite lies just steps from central Sozopol and is walkable from most accommodation in town; parking can be tight in season, so arriving early is wise. The ideal time is summer, from June to September. Pair a beach day with a walk through Sozopol's old town and a sunset watched from the seafront. Sozopol also makes a good base for trips to the Ropotamo reserve or other wild beaches further south.
