North Beach (Severen Plazh) is the city beach of Burgas, running right alongside the celebrated Sea Garden and the heart of town. It is an urban beach in the fullest sense: steps from the promenade, the cafés and the rhythm of the city, which makes it genuinely practical for anyone who wants the sea without leaving town behind.

The sand here is on the coarse side, typical of the Burgas bay, and the sea entry is gradual, the water deepening slowly from the shore. On breezy days the wide bay can stir up light waves, but the water generally stays easy to enter.

The beach suits families, thanks to the gentle entry and the closeness of every city amenity. The season runs roughly from May to September, with peak warmth in July and August. Its biggest draw is access: Burgas has rail and bus stations, and the beach is a few minutes' walk from the centre through the Sea Garden. Bring a parasol, water and sun protection, especially around midday. With a 4.5 rating, it remains one of the best-liked city beaches on the coast.
