Practical notes

Uzana is most easily reached by car, on the road climbing towards the Stara Planina ridge; the town of Gabrovo is the natural nearby base for supplies and access. Being at altitude, the weather can be changeable and cooler than in the valley — bring layers even in summer. Clear weather is best for the views and walking. It can be combined with sights around Gabrovo, such as the Etar open-air museum.
