About Arkutino Beach

Arkutino Beach is one of the wildest and most beautiful beaches on the southern Black Sea coast, in the Ropotamo area south of Burgas. Unlike the crowded resort beaches, Arkutino is part of a protected landscape of sand dunes, wetlands and forest behind it – a place where nature, not concrete, sets the tone. For anyone after a quieter beach day surrounded by nature reserves, it is a memorable choice.

What to expect A wide stretch of fine sand, edged by dunes and the wetland vegetation behind the shore. The area is famous for its natural richness: the Arkutino reserve and the nearby Ropotamo reserve, with birds, water lilies on the river and floodplain forest. It is a place for swimming, walking and watching wildlife rather than bars and facilities. The very lack of heavy development is its charm.

Practical It is reached by car along the coastal road between Burgas and Primorsko/Sozopol; there is parking nearby, and the beach is a popular spot in summer. Bring water, shade and supplies, as amenities are limited compared with the resorts. It is best visited outside peak hours and during the warm months. As a protected zone, respect the rules that safeguard the nature and the dunes. Nearby are the Ropotamo reserve, with boat trips on the river, and the towns of Primorsko and Sozopol for food and lodging. Details on access and facilities should be verified on site.
