About Cape Maslen Nos
Cape Maslen Nos is one of the southernmost headlands on Bulgaria's Black Sea coast, set near the Arkutino area and the Ropotamo reserve in the south of the shoreline. It is a wild, rocky cape where the land reaches into the sea on a tongue of stone, offering open views to the marine horizon and a stretch of coast untouched by resort crowds.
What to see The area blends cliffs, open sea and protected nature. Nearby lie the mouth of the Ropotamo river and the nature reserve of the same name, famed for its riverine forests, picturesque rocks and rich birdlife — a distinctive corner of the coast, very different from the busy beaches further north. The cape itself is a quiet place, ideal for walks, photography and watching the sea, with spectacular sunsets over the water.
Practical Maslen Nos is most easily reached by car, off the coastal road in the south of the shoreline, from the Primorsko–Arkutino area. The final stretch often involves a rougher track and a short walk out to the cape. As this is a protected natural area, it is important to respect the reserve's rules and leave no trace. The most pleasant conditions run from spring through autumn. A visit pairs naturally with the Ropotamo reserve, Arkutino beach and the other natural sights of the southern coast.
