About Holy Trinity Church
The Holy Trinity Church in Dobrinishte is an Orthodox church of this small mountain town in Pirin, next to Bansko and famous for its thermal springs. It is a simple, welcoming community church that rounds out the spiritual life of local people and offers a quiet moment to visitors passing between the slopes and the trails.
The feast of the Holy Trinity (Pentecost, fifty days after Easter) is a great feast of Orthodoxy and is usually the church's liveliest day, with a service and pilgrims from the area. Inside, expect a well-kept church with icons and a traditional iconostasis, in the natural manner of Pirin's places of worship. (The building year and patrons need to be verified on site.)
Practical Dobrinishte lies a few kilometres from Bansko, easily reached by car and also by the scenic Septemvri–Dobrinishte narrow-gauge railway. It is an active place of worship — enter modestly dressed and keep quiet, especially during services. It can be visited year-round. Nearby are the thermal baths, the gondola into the Pirin Mountains and the resort of Bansko.
