Sunny Day, the quiet enclave next to Varna

Sunny Day doesn't behave like a classic seaside resort, with a strip, clubs and crowds. It is a modern, compact resort built alongside St Constantine and Helena, north of Varna, around a handful of hotels and its own beach. The result is a tidy, calm enclave for those who want the sea close to the city but without the bustle. The shaded parks, mineral springs and services next door stay a few steps away, without losing the intimacy of a small place.

Things to do

The area's main asset is position: you sit on the edge of Varna and of the park-resort of St Constantine and Helena, the oldest on the Bulgarian coast, with paths through the pines and thermal springs. From here, the sights make easy day trips.
