About Aheloy Beach
Aheloy Beach belongs to the small resort town of Aheloy, set on the southern Black Sea coast between the big tourist centres of the Burgas bay. It has a gentler rhythm than the larger resorts around it — exactly the kind of shore you look for when you want a day by the sea without the crowds of the big complexes.
Sand and getting in The sand is golden, warm in tone and pleasant underfoot, and the entry into the water is gradual: the depth rises smoothly from the shore, with no unexpected jumps. On quiet summer days the Black Sea here is generally gentle, with small waves.
The beach's more retiring character makes it a good match for anyone after peace and quiet — a place to read, rest and listen to the sea away from the bustle of the busier resorts. That doesn't make it unsuitable for families, but calm is the dominant note. The swimming season covers roughly May to September, peaking in midsummer. Aheloy is easy to reach by road, sitting on the corridor between Burgas and Nessebar/Sunny Beach. As everywhere on the open sand, bring water, sunscreen and a source of shade — and if you want quiet, avoid the middle of the day when the beach livens up.
