About Evksinograd Palace

Evksinograd Palace

On the northern Black Sea coast, between Varna and the resort of St. Constantine and Helena, Evksinograd Palace hides within a sprawling park that descends to the sea. Built in the late 19th century as the summer residence of the Bulgarian royal family, the palace blends the elegance of French château architecture with the charm of the coastal setting. Its Greek-inspired name evokes the idea of a "hospitable shore."

What you will see

The main draw is the park: a garden laid out in French and English styles, with avenues, fountains, terraces and rare trees and plants brought from around the world, sloping down to a private beach. The palace, with its refined façade, remains an official state residence, so the interiors are generally not open to the wider public. The estate also includes its own long-established winery, whose sparkling and still wines have a historic reputation in Bulgaria.

Practical

As Evksinograd is an official residence, access is regulated: visiting the park is usually arranged through bookings or organized tours on limited days and hours, and the rules can change — check the access conditions in advance before planning your visit. The estate lies a few kilometers north of central Varna, easily reached by car from St. Constantine and Helena. The loveliest time is from late spring through autumn, when the gardens are at their best. Combine the visit with the beaches and park of the neighboring resort.
