About OBZOR
Obzor is a quiet resort on Bulgaria's southern Black Sea coast, set between Varna and Burgas on the stretch of shore between Byala and Sunny Beach. Unlike the large, lively resorts nearby, Obzor has kept a more relaxed, small-town feel, making it a favourite with families and anyone after a calm seaside holiday.
What to see and do The resort's main draw is its long beaches of fine sand and gentle water, fringed by greenery. The town has ancient roots: a settlement stood here in antiquity, and over time the area was home to Thracians, Greeks and Romans, reflected in a few historic remains and finds kept in town. Beyond the beach you'll find a promenade, restaurants and small terraces, plus green surroundings, with the hills of the Balkan Mountains descending toward the sea nearby.
Practical Obzor lies on the main coastal road, easily reached by car from either Varna or Burgas, both of which have airports. The beach season is summer, when the weather is warm and the water inviting. The resort works well as a quiet base for exploring the coast: from here you can make trips to livelier resorts as well as to inland villages and sights. Check accommodation and services in advance, as they operate mainly in season.
