Chekotin Monastery “St. Michael the Archangel”

Chekotin Monastery, dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel, is an Orthodox monastic settlement in a mountainous part of Bulgaria, surrounded by forest and quiet. Its patron, St. Michael the Archangel, leader of the heavenly hosts, is among the oldest and most widespread dedications in the Christian tradition.

Like many small Bulgarian monasteries, its value lies in its secluded atmosphere and the continuity of a life of prayer rather than in any monumental scale.
