About Nesebbar's coast alley view
The coastal promenade of Old Nesebar is one of the most photographed spots on Bulgaria's southern Black Sea coast. The alley follows the shoreline of the peninsula crowded with Old Nesebar, a town inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List for its rare density of medieval churches and its traditional timber-upper-storey houses of the Bulgarian Revival period.
What you'll see From the alley opens the view over stone-and-tile roofs, the ruins of Byzantine churches scattered through the town, and the sea horizon. It is an ideal place to watch the sunset, when the silhouette of the peninsula and the windmills at the entrance to the old town stand out against the sky. The walk along the water takes you past jetties, terraces and old walls that drop down to the waves.
Practical Old Nesebar lies very close to the Sunny Beach (Slanchev Bryag) resort, linked by a short road easily covered by local bus, car or even the tourist boats along the bay. The most pleasant moments are early morning and evening, when the crowds thin out. Combine the walk with a visit inside the old town, among its churches and workshops.
